Introduction of Ezetimibe Powder
Ezetimibe is a white crystalline powder, easily soluble in ethanol, methanol and acetone, insoluble in water, melting point of about 163℃, stable at room temperature. Ezetimibe acts on Chemicalbook only in the small intestine, reducing intestinal cholesterol transport to the liver and reducing its storage by inhibiting cholesterol absorption; It can enhance the removal of cholesterol from the blood and thus lower the plasma cholesterol level.

Function
Ezetimibe after oral absorption, combined with glucuronic acid to produce active substances, ezetimibe glucuronic acid, excreted through bile and kidney. After oral administration, the peak concentration of blood drug was reached within 4 ~ 12h, Cmax was 3.4 ~ 5.5mg/mL, bioavailability was 35% ~ 60%, and t1/2 was about 22h. Ezetimibe acts mainly on exogenous cholesterol, while statins work mainly to reduce cholesterol synthesis in the liver, so the two drugs have a synergistic effect. Ezetimibe combined with statins was 8 times more effective than statins alone in lowering cholesterol.
