Function of Agomelatine powder:

Agomelatine is a melatonin receptor agonist (MT1 and MT2 receptors) and a 5-HT2C receptor antagonist. Animal studies have shown that agomelatine can correct the circadian rhythm in animal models of circadian rhythm disorders, to restore the rhythm. Agomelatine has shown antidepressant effects in various animal models of depression. The antidepressant mechanism may be related to increased neuronal plasticity and neuronal proliferation in the hippocampus. The proliferation, regeneration and death of neuronal cells in the adult rat brain were measured by immunostaining. The results showed that long-term (3 weeks) administration of agomelatine can increase the proliferation of hippocampal ventral dentate gyrus cells and neuron regeneration, And this part is related to emotional reflection. However, no similar situation was seen with acute or subacute dosing (4 hours or 9 weeks). After prolonged administration, cell proliferation and neuron regeneration occurred in the entire dentate gyrus region, indicating that agomelatine can increase the neural regeneration of hippocampus to different degrees, thereby generating new granule cells.
