Existence and preparation:
Existence: Naturally present in essential oils such as lemongrass oil and citronella oil.
Preparation: Use saponification and synthesis methods. The saponification method uses Kahlua oil as the raw material, Pg acetic anhydride treatment to generate nerolidol, and then undergoes a saponification reaction to obtain it. The synthesis method uses acetylene as the raw material, first synthesizing methyl butanol, then generating nerolidol, and finally saponifying it.

 

Uses:
Alcohol synthetic fragrances. Mainly used as a blending material for floral fragrances such as lily of the valley, clove, rose, violet, orange blossom, cyclamen, etc., and can also be used as a blending fragrance for oriental and chypre fragrances.
