Leukotriene powder chemical called (-) - (S) - N - (2, 6 - dimethyl phenyl) - 1 - propyl piperidine is - 2 - formamide (S) - N - (2, 6 - dimethyl phenyl) - 1 - propyl - 2 - piperidine carboxy amide,Eicosanoic unsaturated acids with conjugated triene structures isolated from arachidonic acid metabolites in leukocytes. According to the properties of substituents, LTA3 can be divided into six categories: A, B, C, D, E, and F. The structure of LTA3 is 2001, and subscript 3 represents the total number of double bonds in the carbon chain. LTA4 is 5,6-epoxy-7,9,11,14-eicosatetraenoic acid; LTB4 is 5,12-dihydroxy-6,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid; LTC4 is 5-hydroxy-6-S glutathione-7,9,11,14 eicosatetraenoic acid; LTD4, LTE4, and LTF4 are similar to LTC4 except that the 6-position substituent LTD4 does not contain glutamic acid, LTF4 does not contain glycine, and LTE4 only contains cysteine. The nomenclature for other leukotrienes is similar. Leukotriene can be synthesized from arachidonic acid catalyzed by lipoxygenase. Function

Leukotrienes play an important role in inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tract. Leukotriene is more than 1000 times more potent than histamine in inducing nasal allergic reactions. In allergen-induced nasal allergic reactions, the amount of leukotrienes significantly increases both in the immediate and delayed stages. In aspirin sensitive asthma patients, after exposure to aspirin, the leukotriene products LTB4 and LTC4 in nasal secretions increased significantly, but no increase in leukotriene was observed in normal aspirin insensitive individuals and aspirin sensitive patients after desensitization. The amount of leukotrienes released from granulocytes in patients with asthma and AR is higher than that in normal individuals. There is increasing evidence that leukotrienes play a key role in inflammatory lesions of the upper and lower respiratory tracts.
