Product Introduction
Pilocarpine is commonly used to treat primary glaucoma, including open-angle and closed-angle glaucoma. After eye drops, miosis occurs in 10 to 30 minutes and lasts for 4 to 8 hours; the maximum intraocular pressure-lowering effect occurs within about 75 minutes and lasts for 4 to 14 hours; it can relieve or eliminate glaucoma symptoms. Compared with physostigmine, pilocarpine has a mild and short-lived effect, and its aqueous solution is more stable. It can also be used for salivary gland hypofunction. Oral tablets (SALAGEN) can relieve dry mouth.

Product Usage
Pilocarpine usual is used in eye care, the usage please check follow information:
1. Chronic glaucoma, 0.5% to 4% solution, 1 drop/time, 1 ~ 4 times/day.
2. Within the acute attack period of acute angle-closure glaucoma, 1% to 2% solution, 1 drop/time, every 5 ~10 minutes, 3~6 times, every 1~3 hours, until the intraocular pressure drops (Note: the fellow eye is dripped once every 6~8 hours to prevent the attack of angle-closure glaucoma in the fellow eye).
3. Miosis: to counteract the mydriasis effect, 1% solution is dripped 2~3 times; before goniotomy or external trabeculotomy for congenital glaucoma, 1% solution is generally dripped 1~2 times; before iridectomy, 2% solution, 1 drop at a time.
