Dosage form

Pharmacological Action
Clobetasol is a potent local corticosteroid. External use is easily absorbed from the skin, so short-term treatment for stubborn skin diseases is particularly effective. It has a strong capillary constriction effect, and its anti-inflammatory effect is 112.5 times that of hydrocortisone. And anhydrous sodium retention, has a certain role in promoting the excretion of sodium and potassium. Local application of clobetasol also inhibits DNA synthesis and mitosis of epidermal cells, which is another mechanism of clobetasol's therapeutic effect on skin diseases characterized by cell renewal and proliferation, such as psoriasis. And it has anti itching and vasoconstrictive effects, which can reduce overflow and inflammatory reactions.
Pharmacokinetics
About 1% of the local application of clobetasol has therapeutic effects through the skin. If the application site is covered with plastic film, 10% of the drug can pass through the skin. When the usage area is large, the concentration is high, or there is inflammation in the skin, the absorption of clobetasol can be increased. In patients with liver dysfunction, the residence time of drugs in the body is correspondingly prolonged
Indications
Used for psoriasis, stubborn eczema, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus, etc. When the efficacy of other hormones is not ideal, clobetasol can be used. It is formulated with skin penetration enhancers such as lauramine and ketone to treat skin inflammation and pruritus, such as neurodermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, localized pruritus, discoid lupus erythematosus, external otitis, anal and vulvar itching, etc.
Contraindications
1. It is prohibited for those who are allergic to clobetasol.
2. Early skin infectious lesions.
3. Skin ulcerative lesions.
4. Acne vulgaris and rosacea.
5. Perioral dermatitis.
6. Children.
