Paracetamol Or Aspirin Which Is Better?

Apr 11, 2023

Paracetamol and aspirin are both popular NSAIDs on the market today, so which one is better?

First of all, paracetamol and aspirin are both anti-inflammatory drugs, and their similarities are as follows:

1. Both paracetamol and aspirin can be used clinically to relieve pain and fever.

2. Both paracetamol and aspirin reduce pain and fever by preventing the synthesis of prostaglandins in the human body.

Secondly, the differences between aspirin and paracetamol are mainly reflected in the following aspects

1. In addition to antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects, aspirin also has anti-platelet aggregation effects. Therefore, it is often used in clinical medicine for antithrombotic therapy;

2. Paracetamol is less irritating to the gastrointestinal tract and is less likely to cause gastrointestinal discomfort;

3. Improper use of aspirin tablets may cause adverse reactions such as gastric ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding. Especially in the anti-inflammatory use of the elderly and asthma patients, special attention should be paid.

All in all, there is no difference between paracetamol and aspirin as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, only suitable or not. When using these two products, it is recommended to consult a doctor to choose the appropriate product according to the physical condition.
