Introduction of Nevirapine
Nevirapine (NSC 641530) is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) used for the treatment of HIV-1 infection and AIDS.
Nevirapine (NVP) is itself only an inhibitor of CYP3A4 enzyme at much higher concentrations than treatment-related (Ki=270mM) concentrations. Nevirapine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, which has good inhibitory activity against retrovirus-derived reverse transcriptase. Nevirapine is also a potent inhibitor of endogenous reverse transcription in mouse and human cell lines. Nevirapine rescues the inhibition of differentiation in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines and primary generations, as indicated by morphological, functional, and immunoassayed Chemicalbook. Nevirapine, a dipyridodiazepinone, is a highly specific inhibitor of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (RT), with an IC50 of 84nM in enzyme analysis and an IC50 of 40nM in cell culture against HIV-1 replication. Nevirapine altered the cleavage specificity of RNase H, resulting in Nevirapine-induced ribonuclease H activity exceeding the expected change in cleavage specificity.
