1. Isopropyl acetoacetate is used for the prevention of abortion, habitual abortion and preeclampsia caused by vitamin E deficiency, and isopropyl acetoacetate is also used for the treatment of infertility and infantile nutritional megaloblastic anemia.
2. Isopropyl acetoacetate is used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, methacrylate resins, printing ink and organic synthesis.
3. Isopropyl acetoacetate is used as dehydrating agent, extractant and spice component in pharmaceutical industry.
3.Isopropyl acetoacetate is an important raw material for organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals and veterinary drugs. Isopropyl acetoacetate is mainly used in the synthesis of famodipine.

 

Production Methods

In a 500 ml flask equipped with stirring, thermometer and reflux condenser tube, 150 g (2.5 mol) of isopropanol and 0.36 g of triethylamine were added, 210 g (2.5 mol) of bis(vinylidene) ketone was added dropwise at room temperature, and the temperature of the reaction was controlled to be at 70 ℃ during the reaction process, and at the end of the dropwise addition, the temperature was controlled to be at 70 ℃ and held at a temperature of 6 hours to end the reaction. The crude ester was distilled under negative pressure to obtain the finished product isopropyl acetoacetate 343g, yield 95.2%, content 99.3%.

Isopropyl acetoacetate is an important pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates, mainly used in medicine for cardiovascular drug nimodipine intermediates, 2-(3-nitrobenzylidene) isopropyl acetoacetate is synthesized, but also the synthesis of organophosphorus insecticides a basic raw material for the phosphorus.
